Advocate for Academic Excellence and Competitive Schools
A graduate of T.C. Williams High School and a product of our public schools, Mayor Euille knows that the Alexandria City Public School System is second to none. Working with the School Board, on which Mayor Euille served for a decade, he will continue to advocate for academic excellence in all of our schools and for all of our students.

Focus Spending on Teachers and Classrooms
Mayor Euille looks forward to continuing to work with the School Board and our Superintendent, Dr. Mort Sherman, to make sure that our education dollars are being spent where they matter most- on our teachers and in the classroom.

Attract and Retain the Best Teachers
Mayor Euille understands that we must work hard to attract the best teachers to our school system. And, when a teacher commits to teaching here in Alexandria, we must provide an atmosphere where he or she can be successful over an entire career.

Promote Safe Schools
While Mayor Euille is proud that our schools have a strong track record in this area, he understands that we must always be vigilant in keeping our youth safe. As Chairman of the Youth Policy Commission and a member of the Governor’s Urban Policy Task Force, Mayor Euille will continue to be a leader advocating on behalf of our youth.

Expand Career Tech and Vocational Education Programs
The Alexandria City Public School System exists to serve all of our children, and Mayor Euille believes strongly that we must prepare our students for a multitude of career paths and educational opportunities. At T.C. Williams High School, students can choose from a diverse curriculum, from Advanced Placement Courses to Technical and Vocational Education. Mayor Euille understands that this diversity is important in giving our students all of the opportunities they need to succeed.
